If you suffered roof damage to your home from Hurricane Milton, you can now get help for free if you live in Charlotte or DeSoto counties.

FEMA‘s Operation Blue Roof is now up and running.

Eligible homeowners can get temporary blue plastic sheeting to help reduce any further damage until permanent repairs can be made.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will come to your home and help you put a tarp on for free. You can apply now through Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Again, this only applies to Charlotte and DeSoto counties for now.

WINK News is working to learn if any other Southwest Florida counties will be added to the list.
