Suspect identified in shooting investigation at Clewiston Walmart

According to the Clewiston Police Department, a suspect has been identified in the shooting investigation at a Walmart in Clewiston on Friday night.

The man has been identified as 21-year-old Jiren Tyleak Thicklin of Harlem.

Thicklin allegedly pulled out a firearm and shot five to six shots at a victim but missed all of them.

Authorities said that Thicklin fled the scene and a Hendry County deputy apprehended him around the automotive section of the Walmart.

Thicklin was arrested and charged with 2 counts of attempted homicide.

Several people who were inside the store when this happened said they had to run and hide, and are just traumatized.

Hendry County Sheriff’s Office was on the scene as well.

Thicklin was transported to the Hendry County Jail and is being held without bond

The investigation remains active and no additional information is being released.
