Investigators are working to move a plane that crashed at the Naples Airport on New Year’s Day.

The plane was getting cut up Thursday to be removed from the Naples airport.

The Federal Aviation Administration plans to move it to Jacksonville to investigate what caused the crash early Wednesday morning.

On Wednesday, the FAA told WINK News that the pilot, his wife, their teenage son and his friend were taking off to Flagler County but were only in the air for a few moments before making an emergency landing.

The four passengers survived after their six-seat aircraft banged into several buildings before finally coming to a skidding stop.

Investigators have been at the scene since the crash.

Caution tape was put up to keep people back since the plane was full of fuel, and investigators wanted to make sure everyone was safe while they worked to clean up the downed plane.
