As an island girl at heart, I'm thrilled to be back by the beach. While there are so many fantastic things about Southwest Florida, one of my favorites is Captiva, which holds a special place in my heart because that is where I celebrated my marriage.

15 year-old cheetah dies at Naples zoo

NAPLES, Fla. – A 15-year-old female cheetah has died at the Naples Zoo. The zoo sent a release Saturday saying Ngoma was suffering from declining health issues and was euthanized Friday. Ngoma’s mate also passed away at age 15 last year. The zoo said the two cheetahs were some of the oldest cheetahs in the country.
