MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) – Authorities say they’ve arrested a teenage suspect in a fatal shooting that occurred near a Miami Gardens high school last week.

Miami-Dade police report that the 17-year-old boy was taken into custody Tuesday and charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder.

Officials say the suspect and another male exchanged gunfire Thursday afternoon with 16-year-old Khambell Manning and another teenager, causing nearby Carol City High School to be placed on lockdown. Manning and that other teen were both shot, and Manning later died from his wounds. The other teen was treated and released from the hospital.

Police said in a news release that the shooting was part of an ongoing feud between the parties.

Authorities are still searching for the other suspected shooter.
