TAMPA, Fla. (AP) – Little Jaden Juniel Rosales was born while his father sped toward the hospital on the Lee Roy Selman Expressway in Tampa.

When contractions began early Tuesday, Jose and Grendalee Rosales got into the car with their other three children and headed to the hospital. But Jaden had other plans. He was born about 3:30 a.m.

The Tampa Bay Times reports Jose Rosales stopped the car near an exit while an aunt who was traveling with them called 911. He flagged down a passing motorist. The driver was a cameraman for WTVT, who was on his way to work. He told the dispatcher the baby was squirming, but not crying.

An ambulance took mom and baby to Tampa General Hospital, where both are doing well.
