Collier County, Fla. – WINK News just confirmed a Golden Gate farmer’s market will be open on Saturday.

County leaders say commissioners were not allowed to close the market, because the market’s managers have a permit.

Earlier this week, commissioners voted 3 to 2 to temporarily close the market.  Commissioner Tom Henning had said it hurt local business owners. Vendors and shoppers said they were ready to protest.

But, that decision has been reversed.

The farmer’s market is Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Golden Gate Community Center.

Collier County Commissioners may still discuss the issue at their next meeting on February 10th.
