
FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. – A 48-year-old man from Cape Coral was killed in a motorcycle crash Saturday night.
It happened just after 9 p.m. on San Carlos Boulevard and Isle of Palms Drive. State troopers said the driver of a truck tried to make a u-turn at the intersection and turned directly into the path of the motorcycle.
Edward Cunningham and a woman were on the motorcycle when it was hit. Cunningham died at the scene and his passenger was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the truck, 55-year-old Stewart Hawley, was cited for making an improper u-turn.
