Police raid elderly woman’s home, find nothing

RIVERA BEACH, Fla.- An elderly woman is looking for answers to why police destroyed her home and when they will clean up their mess.

The 90-year-old has lived in the same home for 25 years.

Police obtained a search warrant for her address on December 18 after evidence of criminal activity.

After searching the home with drug sniffing dogs, they came up empty-handed.

Police say the search warrant was executed at the correct address and that the resident may not have known drugs were allegedly being sold from her home.

“I don’t know how the cops got in here, the noise woke me up when something said boom! Like a bomb or something,” said the woman who preferred not to be identified. “Cops standing over here talking about ‘Where’s the drugs?’ I said ‘What? What drugs?'”

The police department has since put up temporary repairs and has decided to pay for new windows and doors.

The resident is supposed to get a new door later this week and new windows by February 28.
