DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) – Officials near Daytona Beach say a central Florida man who was found dead at a landfill had apparently been sleeping in a trash bin.
The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office reported Thursday that 51-year-old Ronald Lantery had been asleep in a recycling bin and was crushed to death when the container was emptied into a truck.
The truck then made the delivery to the county landfill.
Lantery’s body was found Wednesday at the Tomoka Farms Road Landfill.
