LEE COUNTY, Fla.- A family of four was inside an SUV pulling a large trailer that flipped over on I-75 Friday morning.

Drivers watched in terror as it happened and jumped out of their cars as quickly as they could.

“It started to avoid it, and it hit the bench right there, and the trailer started to flip and it took the trailer with the truck and everything in there, and when it sat up, I stopped my car right there.”

The man who pulled two little girls out of the crash says he “tried to open the door, to see what happened and take the kids out and try to open the door for the driver’s side, but I see the father with his head leaning, I didn’t want to touch it because i didn’t know what could happen.”

Strangers stopped to help bandage the wounds of the two girls who were hurt and bleeding, and kept them calm before paramedics got here.

Their mother did not appear to be seriously hurt but their father was trapped in the driver seat.

Paramedics were able to get him out of the SUV and into the ambulance.

State troopers say the entire family was taken to the hospital. Authorities say all of them were wearing seatbelts.
