SANIBEL ISLAND, Fla.- The osprey rescued earlier this week from Bokeelia has died from its injuries.

The osprey arrived at the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW) late Thursday dehydrated and in shock and was given a guarded prognosis.

Doctors say the osprey had a dislocated hip and was given pain medication, antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medication and was placed on strict cage rest.

The osprey was approximately 1-years-old and CROW vets hoped the bird’s young age would assist in her recovery.

CROW tells WINK News a dislocated hip is a serious injury and complicated to fix.
