CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP) – A Tampa Bay area man has been sentenced to life in prison for his part in a fatal home invasion.

A Pinellas County judge sentenced 33-year-old Christopher Roberson on Tuesday after a jury found him guilty of first-degree murder.

Authorities say Roberson was one of four men who broke into a St. Petersburg home in June 2012 while pretending to be police officers. Prosecutors say the men demanded money and drugs from Richard Shaw before fatally shooting him.

Also charged following the slaying were Justin Maurice Hart and Charles C. Stone. The Tampa Tribune reports that Stone testified against Roberson in exchange for a lesser charge of second-degree murder.
