CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla.- A former Charlotte County man was arrested in Tennessee Monday afternoon on a Charlotte County warrant charging him with sexual battery on a child.

Detectives obtained a warrant last Friday for Glen Edward “Pee Wee” St. John, 40, and travelled to Tennessee where they worked with Fentress County Sheriff’s detectives to affect the arrest.

Detectives began their investigation when the victim, who is now an adult, reported that St. John began assaulting her when she was a young child. Based on the witness testimony and other additional evidence, detectives applied for and received the warrant.

St. John is currently charged with one count of capital sexual battery on a child under age 12, but additional felony charges are pending.

Fentress County Sheriff’s detectives took St. John into custody Monday afternoon. He is being held without bond.

At a hearing Tuesday morning, St. John waived extradition and will be transferred from Fentress County to Charlotte County.

Sheriff Bill Prummell would like to thank Sheriff Charles Cravens and the members of the Fentress County Sheriff’s Department for their assistance in this case.
