PANAMA CITY, Fla. (AP) – Leaders from the Panama City Beach area are proposing more regulations designed to crackdown on spring break partying and chaos.

The Panama City News Herald reports the new proposals by Bay County Commissioners are in response to a shooting, alleged gang rape and other incidents that drew national attention during spring break 2015.

County commissioners have drafted a nuisance party ordinance that would help law enforcement officers shut down loud parties. Commissioners are considering other ordinances to regulate special events and curtail spontaneous pop-up events that get out of control.

The county has already adopted numerous ordinances targeting spring break, including banning alcohol on the beach throughout the month of March.
