Child found in North Naples after disappearing from Wal-Mart

NORTH NAPLES, Fla.- A boy suffering from autism got lost in a North Naples Wal-Mart Wednesday night, forcing the store to shut down.

The boy’s mother said they were shopping when her son, Adam, disappeared. She panicked and quickly asked for help, prompting Wal-Mart to launch an alert for the missing child called “Code Adam.”

The alert shut down the store as the employees guarded every door, but before they were in place, Adam had already run out the door.

Wal-Mart called 911 as the family searched for the little boy. Collier County Sheriff’s deputies and K9s flooded the plaza.

Adam was eventually found near the end of the plaza by the Dollar Tree store.
