LEHIGH ACRES, Fla.- A registered felon is back in jail after a large drug and gun bust.

On Thursday, authorities concluded a two-month-long investigation into James Bissell, a local drug dealer residing on the 1000 block of Desoto Avenue. Undercover detectives conducted several narcotics transactions with Bissell, purchasing over 2 ounces of powder cocaine and approximately 12.8 grams of Heroin, with a combined street value of nearly $5,500.

During the execution of a search warrant at Bissell’s house, officials found 34 firearms, including high powered rifles, hand guns, and assault rifles and thousands of rounds of ammunition. A variety of narcotics were also seized, including 30.8 grams of cocaine, 9.8 grams of heroin, 53 Hydrocodone pills, 20 Morphine pills, 10 Xanax pills, and 5.56 pounds of marijuana.

About $32,049 in cash was found hidden throughout the home. Authorities say Bissell makes approximately $150,000 a year selling narcotics and has been doing so for about four years.

Bissell was charged with selling, trafficking, and possession of cocaine and heroin, destruction of evidence, possession of a firearm or ammunition by a felon, trafficking in opium, and possession of marijuana.
