Tampa Bay Rays open spring season

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. – The Tampa Bay Rays have left The Trop and arrived in Southwest Florida as they get set for an exciting Spring Training season at the Charlotte Sports Park.

2016 is sure to be an exciting year for the Rays and a thrilling spring season for fans. Announced late Tuesday night, the Rays will play one of their Spring games outside the United States in Cuba on March 22nd, against the Cuba National Team.

The Rays play their first Grapefruit League game against the Washington Nationals on Wednesday March 2nd at 1:05 p.m. which is also military appreciation day at the park. A special pre-game ceremony for each branch will take place and the U.S. Army Paratroopers will skydive in to deliver the game ball.
