CAPE CORAL, Fla. – Mayor Marni Sawicki is seeking protection against a firefighter in her own city after an erratic three-year relationship ended, the News-Press reports. The temporary injunction was approved after Sawicki told authorities she felt threatened by text messages, phone calls and the firefighter’s behavior, according to the News-Press. Sawicki said Lt. Kenneth Retzer’s harassment is affecting her work life, even causing her to miss city council meetings, media reports said. Sawicki said Retzer is a “good man,” the News-Press said. He is not allowed to contact Sawicki, or confront her in person, visit her home or own a gun until a hearing is held Monday, according to reports.
