CLEWISTON, Fla. — A Hendry County jail transport van struck a cow that was in the road Friday morning on U.S. 27 in Glades County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The incident took place just south of the intersection with County Road 720. The driver of the vehicle was uninjured, but the collision killed the cow.
The highway is now clear, FHP said.
