FORT MYERS, Fla. – Families walked with city police officers and called for unity at a peaceful protest at Clemente Park on Sunday at 2 p.m., which was hours after reports about a suspect opening fire on police in Baton Rouge.
“The Baton Rouge incident definitely did sadden me because the theme is peace. The theme is love. We’re definitely not not trying to go an eye for an eye,” said Mac Guadin from the protest. “That’s never been the message. That’s never been the objective.
