U.S. 41 reopens after deadly San Carlos Park crash

SAN CARLOS PARK, Fla. — A 62-year-old man was killed in a crash that shut down northbound lanes of U.S. 41 for three and a half hours Wednesday morning.

David Garcia, who works at Battista Farms, died after he was ejected from the gold pickup truck he was driving at the corner of U.S. 41 and Hickory Drive, Florida Highway Patrol said. Garcia violated the right of way of the white pickup truck he ran into shortly before 6 a.m., according to FHP.

Two northbound lanes reopened at about 9:30 a.m. and a third lane reopened 10:20 a.m.

No further information was immediately available.
