SWFL to sample eats at Big Swamp Smoke-Off competition

FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. — Southwest Florida residents will have the opportunity to sample barbecue from more than 30 different establishments at the Big Swamp Smoke-Off competition.

The event begins at 5 p.m. Friday and picks back up at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Collier County Fairgrounds on 751 39th Ave. N.E.

Admission is free. Attendees can try foods and vote for their favorites. In addition, there will be live music, games, beer tastings and face painting, according to the competition’s website.
