IMMOKALEE, Fla. At least one person died in a crash near mile marker 64 on Interstate 75, the Florida Highway Patrol said. The wreck blocked all northbound traffic for about 90 minutes after it took place at about 4:30 p.m. One lane opened around 6 p.m., but a major backup persists. It’s the fifth straight day someone has died on Southwest Florida roads. One person was killed Sunday in Charlotte County, and a pedestrian died Monday in Lehigh Acres. Two pedestrians were hit and killed Tuesday — one in Arcadia and the other in Englewood. A passenger was killed in a four-car wreck Wednesday in Golden Gate Estates. A second crash occurred about three miles north near mile marker 61 around 7:16 p.m. No further information is immediately available.
