NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. Lee County Sheriff’s deputies stopped and checked cars Wednesday afternoon on East Street near Bayshore Road. Deputies were searching for a driver who fled a traffic stop by Love’s Travel Shop on 17308 Park 78 Drive, a sheriff’s office spokesperson said Wednesday. A helicopter was used in the search. Deputies moved on from East Street shortly before 6 p.m. It’s unclear if they found who they were looking for. No further information is immediately available.
