IMMOKALEE, Fla. At least one person is dead after a two-vehicle crash that shut down State Road 29 in both directions near Oil Well Park Road, the Florida Highway Patrol said. The wreck took place around 6:28 p.m. The driver of the pickup truck crossed over the center median and crashed head-on into a semi-trailer truck, troopers said. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route as State Road 29 will be shut down for several hours. This is the second deadly crash to take place in Southwest Florida within the last day. The first crash occurred Thursday afternoon when one person was killed after a three-vehicle crash on State Road 31 in Arcadia. No further information is immediately available.
