Collier elementary school teacher accused of assaulting deputy

NORTH NAPLES, Fla. A Parkside Elementary School teacher was arrested Friday after allegedly assaulting a sheriff’s deputy at a bar, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office said.

Tiffany Anne Milfort, 36, and her husband, Jean Rodriguez Milfort, 39, were taken into custody after a scuffle at Blue Martini at the Mercato shopping center on 9114 Strada Place, the sheriff’s office said.

Tiffany Milfort has since been reassigned to an administrative position within the school district.

Jean Milfort got aggressive with a bouncer, prompting Blue Martini managers to call 911, the sheriff’s office said. Video appears to depict a bar employee saying Jean Milfort threatened him with a gun.

Jean Milfort also demanded his wife come out of the bar or he’d “shoot up the place,” the sheriff’s office said. He later told deputies he had a gun in his car.

The couple began fighting each other in the Mercato parking garage. Deputies approached and attempted to arrest them, but as they tried to handcuff Jean Milfort, his wife attacked one of the deputies, ripping that deputy’s earpiece out of his ear, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies were eventually able to cuff both Milforts. Tiffany Milfort was released on $10,000 bond and faces charges of disorderly intoxication, battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting a law enforcement officer and obstruction of an officer.

Jean Milfort is facing a disorderly intoxication charge. He’s free on $2,000 bond.
