Foot pursuit backs up traffic on I-75 SB, 2 in custody

FORT MYERS, Fla. Two people were in custody Wednesday afternoon after four people ran from a stolen vehicle that was stopped on I-75 southbound at mile marker 132.

Jevon Blanks, 18, and James Blanks, 20, both of Fort Myers, as well as the other two passengers, ran after Florida Highway Patrol troopers conducted a traffic stop on the black Acura Sedan.

Traffic was backed up in the area as authorities searched for them.

The pair was both arrested without incident.

Jevon Blanks is facing charges of grand theft auto, driving without a license, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon and fleeing a law enforcement officer. He is being held on a $20,500 bond.

James Blanks is facing charges of grand theft auto and resisting arrest without violence on a $6,500 bond.
