ARCADIA, Fla. One person was killed in a crash early Sunday morning near State Road 70, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Luis Jabierr Barajas Jr., 18, of Lake Placid, was killed when his 2005 Toyota Sienna crashed into a ditch around 4:09 a.m. near the intersection of Northeast Roan Street and Northeast Hansel Avenue, according to the FHP. Barajas Jr. was driving eastbound approaching Hansel Avenue, and crossed into the westbound lane before the colliding with a ditch near an orange grove, State troopers said. He was was then thrown from the vehicle, according to State troopers. Barajas Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene. It’s unclear alcohol was involved or if Barajas Jr. was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, State troopers said.
