‘Insurance villages’ set up for post-Irma help in Lee, Collier

FORT MYERS, Fla. Insurance industry representatives will answer questions and help residents file claims in person Thursday.

Sen. Marco Rubio and Florida Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis arranged the “insurance villages” set up at the following locations until 6 p.m.:

  • New Hope Ministries Event Center, 7675 Davis Blvd in East Naples
  • Lee County Veterans Park Recreation Center, 55 Homestead Road S., Lehigh Acres

The following local, state, and federal agencies and organizations, including FEMA, will be in attendance to offer assistance along with the insurance companies:

• American Red Cross
• Florida SBDC Network
• U.S. Small Business Administration
• Florida Departments of Children and Families and Economic Opportunity
• First Data Corporation
• Anheuser-Busch Companies
• CareerSource Florida
• ElderSource
• United Way of Florida
• The Salvation Army
