Scattered rain, storms for Saturday

FORT MYERS, Fla. There will be a high of 88 degrees with areas of scattered rain and storms Saturday, WINK meteorologist Brooke Silverang said.

“We’re expecting to see some scattered showers and storms develop as you go throughout your afternoon hours today,” Silverang said. “If you have any outdoor activities, get that done early.”

Tropical Storm Nate was upgraded to a Category 1 Hurricane Friday night, according to the National Hurricane Center. The system had maximum sustained winds of 85 miles per hour and was moving north-northwest at 22 miles per hour as of the 7 a.m. advisory.
