Attorney John Morgan, founder of Morgan & Morgan, announced Tuesday that his ballot initiative to increase Florida’s minimum wage to $15 per hour is headed to the state supreme court for review.
Currently, Florida’s minimum wage is $8.46 an hour. Under the ballot initiative the minimum wage would increase by $1 every year starting in 2023 until it reaches $15. Morgan said this will allow small businesses time to adjust.
Morgan said the ballot language received the more than 120,000 signatures required to send it to the Florida Supreme Court. The court will review the ballot language, and if it is approved it will be on the 2020 ballot.
Would you vote to approve raising Florida's minimum wage to $15 per hour?
