An Immokalee man died after a crash on State Road 29 Saturday evening.

Alfonso Velasquez, 26, was driving a Dodge Caravan northbound on SR-29 north of SR-82. A medium-duty truck, driven by Elyse Alce, 60, was moving northbound near 9:30 p.m.
The Dodge failed to slow down for traffic and the front of the van hit the rear of the truck, which was hauling tomatoes, according to the Florida Highway Patrol press release.
The Dodge came to a stop near the northbound and southbound lanes. The truck was propelled into a northern direction, with tomatoes tumbling to the ground, before coming to a halt.
Benito Rojas, 46, a passenger in the Dodge, died in the crash, per the FHP press release. The remaining occupants of the Dodge — Velasquez, Elia Cervantes, 27, Narcito Marcilino and Minerva Ramirez, 22 — were all seriously injured and taken to Lee Memorial Hospital.
The driver and passenger in the truck were not injured.
