A Naples man has been arrested for the possession of child pornography and for several drug charges.

The suspect, Matthew Schreiner, 37, faces several drug charges and for 20 counts of Obscene Material Poss Photo of Sexual Perform By Child.

Special agents with the Florida Dept. of Law Enforcement and Collier County Sheriff’s Office deputies executed a search warrant on the suspect’s residence at the 500 block of 97 Ave. in Naples on Wednesday.

Many images and video files depicting child pornography were found on the hard drive the suspect said are his. The disturbing contents included naked videos of children doing sexual acts with objects, animals, and as victims of battery.

Neighbor Frank Santaromita, who has lived in the area for 6 years, was surprised to learn the man living near him would possess something that awful. He was glad to see the police handling the situation.

“It’s quite a shock when I heard about it,” Santaromita said. “When school is out, you see kids all over the place. So yeah, it’s terrible.”

Schreiner told police he was the resident of the apartment and confirmed he had two computers; an external hard drive; and, he has Peer-2-Peer software uTorrent on a computer, the FDLE report states.

Deputies found 4.7 grams of cocaine in the kitchen and nearly 16 grams in the bedroom. There were over 270 grams of marijuana in an oven and paraphernalia throughout the apartment.

Schreiner was taken to Naples Jail. His bond was set at $300,000.
