13-year-old Lee County student arrested, admitted to having knife on bus

A 13-year old student from Lexington Middle School in Lee County was arrested Tuesday afternoon.

The student told a teacher that he had a knife in his bag while on the school bus. He was immediately escorted to the SRO’s office.

Another student on the bus also reported seeing the knife.

The school alerted parents and told them to talk to their children about the dangers of weapons.

No additional details have been released regarding his arrest at this time.
