The Community Cooperative in Fort Myers said they’re running low on supplies and have had to turn people away.
They said they served 325 families on Saturday. Their normal amount is around 150, so they ran out of food and many people went home without any.
“The stress and the tears that you’re seeing on people’s faces as they’re having to drive through these food pantries because they never had to do this before, it’s really heartbreaking,” said Tracey Galloway, CEO of Community Cooperative.
They added 10 mobile food pantries this month, and that number is growing.
