A person of interest in a shooting that happened on the beach outside of the Lani Kai on July 15 has been arrested, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say the person was arrested on unrelated charges but is of interest in the case. They also said they are looking at several other people of interest as they continue to investigate.
The identity of the person arrested has not been released.
One person was killed and two others were injured in the early-morning shooting. Investigators say multiple shots were fired and the suspect is still on the loose.
LCSO determined that four people had gotten into an argument on the sand and one of them had a gun and shot the other three. They believe it was an isolated and targeted incident.
