Motorcyclist, 29, dies in Wednesday Lehigh Acres hit-and-run crash

Florida Highway Patrol responded to a deadly hit-and-run crash that killed a 29-year-old Lehigh Acres man on a motorcycle Wednesday night.

According to FHP, the crash happened around 7:50 p.m. on Joel Boulevard near the intersection with East 19th Street.

The motorcyclist was traveling north on Joel Blvd. toward E 19th St when an unknown vehicle that appeared to be a sedan hit the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist was ejected from the bike, and he was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators say it’s unknown what direction the suspect vehicle was traveling at the time of the crash.

According to FHP, the suspect vehicle involved in the crash left the scene, and investigators are actively searching for it and the unknown driver.
