The scene of a death investigation in Cape Coral. Credit: WINK News A death investigation is underway after a woman was found dead inside a car Thursday morning in Cape Coral. The Cape Coral Police Department says an officer was on a traffic stop at about 4 a.m. at Del Prado Boulevard and Savona Parkway when a vehicle pulled up behind his patrol car. The driver approached the officer and said his girlfriend was sick. When the officer checked on the woman, she was found to be deceased. A major crimes detective and a forensic specialist responded to the scene to investigate. The medical examiner will be conducting an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
