A 14-year-old student at Phoenix Alternative School was arrested on Wednesday after writing a threatening message on a restroom door at the school.

In a Facebook post, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office said the student is facing a charge of intimidation for sending a written threat to carry out a mass shooting.

A teacher reported finding the threatening message written on a bathroom door in the classroom on the school’s Estey Avenue campus on March 254.

School employees reviewed footage of who had entered the bathroom and spoke with several students.

The 14-year-old confessed. WINK News is not naming the student because of their age.

Deputies determined there was no threat to the school and that the student did not have access to weapons.
