Hendry Regional Medical Center suspends elective surgeries due to COVID-19

Hendry Regional Medical Center will suspend elective surgeries starting on Monday.

The hospital said the procedures have been placed on hold while staff deals with the surge in COVID-19 cases.

“We continue to evaluate our safety procedures and make the necessary change to ensure the safety of our patients and staff,” said hospital CEO R.D. Williams. “We look forward to once again offering full-service healthcare in a safe manner for all in the future.

The hospital said it will continue to monitor the prevalence of infection in Hendry County and reevaluate the suspension in surgeries in the coming weeks.
