In its most recent COVID-19 update, Lee Health thanked Southwest Florida for the outpouring of support the community has shown its health care workers during the current delta variant surge.

Local restaurants and food trucks have donated meals to Lee Health employees, and dozens of donations have been sent in from individual community members to provide comfort for frontline health care workers.

Through Lee Health Foundation’s “Help our Heroes” campaign, over $100,000 has been raised through community donations. The money goes toward providing Lee Health’s health care workers with resources to take care of themselves mentally and physically during their fight against the pandemic.

“We are overwhelmed by the support from our community, and we can’t say thank you enough,” wrote Jonathan Little, Lee Health communications supervisor.
