Rain chances slowly rise into the weekend

Good Monday morning, Southwest Florida!

Highs will be slightly above average for many of us. Expect temperatures in the upper 80s and low 90s during peak heating.

Partly cloudy skies will become more cloudy after lunchtime. That’s also when we will see our isolated rain chances begin. They will stick with us into the evening and early overnight hours.

Low-end rain chances will carry on and increase over the entire week.

Neither of the named storms in the Atlantic will impact Southwest Florida in any way. Sam is now a Category 2 hurricane in the North Atlantic. Additionally, the remnants of Victor will remain in the Mid-Atlantic for its lifespan.

There is now a disturbance with a low chance of formation off the east coast of Florida. It is unlikely to form into a named storm. Regardless, it will have minimal impacts to Southwest Florida, potentially only increasing our rain chances later this week and weekend. The next name on our 2021 Storm Naming List is Wanda.
