A man was arrested for a deadly crash that happened back in December 2022. Maxcimiliano Rodriguez, who faced vehicular homicide charges, had his first appearance in court on Thursday. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the then-19-year-old Rodriguez was driving 102 mph before crashing along Lee Boulevard in Lehigh Acres. The crash killed one person and injured two others. Three SUVs were involved in the deadly crash. Rodriguez’s father and brother came to the court, overwhelmed with emotion, to testify on his behalf, pleading with the court for a lesser bond. When the defense asked Rodriguez’s father if his son had ever been arrested or had any problems he said, “He never did nothing wrong. Just drive.” The judge found probable cause and set Rodriguez’s bond to $75,000. Rodriguez is due in court again on June 24.
