The Florida Highway Patrol confirms to WINK News that one person has died after a crash in Collier County. This happened along SR-29 just south of I-75.

FHP says this was a head-on crash, and one person was ejected from a vehicle. They say one child has died due to this crash.

Three vehicles were involved in this accident.

FHP says a car traveling south on SR-29 entered the northbound lane causing one car to veer off the road. Troopers say that car was sideswiped. They say a car behind it was then hit head-on by the car that was traveling south.

Troopers say the child that died was a passenger in the car that was hit head-on. They have not released the age of the child.

The driver of the car traveling south and the driver and two surviving passengers in the car that was hit all suffered serious injuries.

FHP has not said if the driver responsible for this fatal crash will face any charges.
