A 15-year-old Bonita Springs High School student was arrested on Monday for threatening someone with a knife while on campus, deputies said.

The incident happened on the fourth anniversary of the deadly shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

“I am disappointed to announce that yesterday, on the anniversary of the tragedy at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, there was a threat at Bonita Springs High School,” said Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno. “My stance remains the same each and every day, if you bring a weapon or make a threat to do harm, you will go to jail.”

The suspect was pulled out of class by a school resource officer, who found two pocket knives on the student.

The student was arrested and faces charges of aggravated assault and possession of a weapon on school property.
