A Georgia man has been found guilty of lewd or lascivious molestation and lewd or lascivious battery by a Collier County court.

Paul Faherty, 50, from Milton, Georgia, was found guilty of two counts of lewd or lascivious molestation and one count of lewd and lascivious battery on Friday after a four-day trial in Collier County.

Collier County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Faherty in May 2019 after an investigation into incidents between 2013 and 2015. The investigation was launched after the victim contacted law enforcement in 2018. The state attorney’s office did not release the details of the crime or investigation.

Faherty was found by the court to be a dangerous sexual felony offender due to a previous conviction for sexual assault in New Jersey. He faces a minimum of 25 years in prison or a maximum sentence of life.

A date for sentencing has not been set.
