Cape Coral Police Department Cape Coral police say a 31-year-old woman is dead after she was hit by a car on Monday night. According to police, Jacqueline Oliver was crossing Cape Coral Parkway East near the Palm Tree Boulevard intersection just after 10 p.m. Police say a car traveling east in the center lane on Cape Coral Parkway East hit Oliver as she was crossing, causing her to hit her head on the car’s windshield. Cape Coral police say Oliver was not using a crosswalk and was not wearing reflective clothing. They also say the driver of the car that hit her was not speeding and say the driver was not impaired at the time of the accident. They say the driver had a green light in the upcoming intersection when they hit Oliver. Oliver was taken to Gulf Coast Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. Cape Coral police did not say if the driver will face charges.
