A man who sailed to Fort Myers Beach is left needing help to get his boat out of a tree and back onto the water after Hurricane Ian.

Dion is from Norway and lives on his sailboat. He was on his boat when Hurricane Ian ripped through SWFL.

He is searching for anyone who can help him get his sailboat back in the water so he can get back to his wife and daughter.

“This was my first hurricane. This was a horrible experience,” Dion said.

Dion explained that the tree was the only thing that stopped his boat from moving further away from the water.

“My boat came all the way from the boating field and all the way here. Thanks to that tree, it stopped my boat and the opportunity to land like that,” Dion said.

He said all he needs is someone with a crane and boat trailer now.

“They tried to help me put the boat back in the water but we need someone with a boat trailer and crane to move the boat 60 yards,” Dion said.

Dion said this is the only transportation he has to get back to his family.

“I don’t have anywhere to go, this is my only chance to keep going with my life. This was my everything,” Dion said
