People in Southwest Florida were excited to walk together Saturday morning for a good cause. The Copperleaf Charitable Foundation hosted its annual Hunger Walk inside the Copperleaf Golf Club Community in Estero. Annual hunger walk hosted by the Copperleaf Charitable Foundation. CREDIT: WINK News Every person is helping to take a step closer to ending hunger. Their registration fees to participate go, as a donation, to the Harry Chapin Food Bank. WINK News spoke with Barb Brown, the vice president of the Copperleaf Charitable Foundation about the walk. “There was already a hunger problem here in Southwest Florida and Ian not only exacerbated that existing problem, but Ian came in and added a whole other layer of people who had never experienced anything like this before,” Brown said. The pre-walk festivities began at 8:30 a.m. while the food drive ended at 10 a.m.
